Impossible to cancel your Vodacom contract - Be Aware

Dear Vodacom Please see below a major FLAW in your service provision. I am leaving the country on Sunday (19 Sep) and have been trying to cancel my contract (which expired in Feb 2021) for the last 2 weeks. On 2nd Sep, I made initial contact with your cancellation service (***). I received an SMS saying that "You will receive an SMS and Email with your exact cancellation or conversion date. Until such time, your Vodacom Contract Cancellation is not confirmed". I waited and received no further communication. I tried again on the 6th September and received the same SMS and still no further communication. I then tried to go into one of your stores (Pavilion Vodacom) where I was informed that they could not do cancellations in store. However, they opened a query (***). I tried contacting the cancellation service again on 14th Sep and for the first time, was put through to an operator (Wendy) who said that her system was down and she could not help me. She did not make any attempt to phone back or put me through to someone who could help. I phoned again yesterday (15th Sep) and was put through to Andile who said that because I had spoken to Wendy the day before, I could only interact with Wendy and that she could not help me either. I told her that I had not even started the process of cancellation with Wendy, but Andile still refused to help me. She said that Wendy would phone me back later in the day. Surprise, surprise, NO phone call from Wendy.... I then got an SMS today telling me that the query opened by Pavilion Vodacom was closed and that the solution to my problem is to phone cancellation services (***). WOW! I am not sure what I was doing the past few days if that is your only solution!? Because I have received ABSOLUTELY no help, my only course of action now is to stop my debit order. If you have an issue with it, you had better take it up with your own employees who have been zero help, or you had better try and make your cancellation process easier. I will not be joining Vodacom again on my return to SA unless you sort this issue out because it should not be so hard to cancel something. I will also be warning other people about the above and making it known on social media. NO thank you Vodacom, Andile and Wendy.
