Impossible to cancel an expired contract. Vodacom *****

My rating of Vodacom would be a MINUS 10,000 if the ratings bar allowed it.

Trying to cancel my expired contract with Vodacom has turned out to be an absolute and impossible nightmare from hell. Starting the process since a month before the actual expiry date, having to call again and again, speaking to consultants who keep dropping the calls, one of them even changed my 'security question' information so that I won't be able to answer correctly next time! Peppering me with questions that has nothing to do with Vodacom! I think it is within everyone's right to discontinue a contract upon expiry. SHAME ON YOU VODACOM. I am still awaiting the credit note that you promised will be passed against my account to clear it. But, as with everything else, Vodacom continues to deliver empty promises.

Thank you to LANCE GURLING at the hellopeter help desk who was able to professionally, QUICKLY and IMMEDIATELY resolve this issue. (I hope...let's see what happens at month-end)

A pity that Vodacom chooses to put their clients through these unpleasantries. Incompetence perhaps? Maybe. Or are they trained to deliberately make it impossible for their clients to move on? 'These calls are recorded and we have to ask you all these questions or I can lose my job' stated by one of their consultants upon trying to relentlessly convince me to not cancel my contract. Vodacom clearly bullies not only their clients, but also their own employees!

Advise from an ex-Vodacom client:

1) If you never choose to cross paths with Vodacom, it will be too soon! Stay away from them.
2) If this advise is too late; in order to resolve issues, go straight to hellopeter. Don't waste time trying to resolve anything with their own consultants. They are trained to deliver empty promises, to blame everything on the system, to bounce you back and forth from pillar to post in the hope of you giving up the battle. And why should anything so simple proof to be such a battle?
