Impossible cancellation of contract, *********** Vodacom
I have been trying to cancel my Vodacom contract for a few days now. Firstly they do not answer the phone at the cancellation department - I tried over 10 times to call them, each time staying on hold for around 5 minutes until the call just cuts off. Eventually I took to Facebook inbox to sent them a message, no reply. Then in desperation I posted a Facebook status tagging them and they immediately responded to my inbox message saying they would assist me the following day. I received a phonecall from someone in the social media department saying they could help me. She said she would send me the quote, then all I do was to go in store to pay. I never received the quote, she phoned me back to check if I received the quote, I did not. She said she would send it and she did not. I took to Facebook again later that day to comment on my existing status - I got a response asking if I have been in store to pay my cancellation. I said no, I haven't received my quote! So I just went to a store and tried to pay, they told me in store I had to phone the cancellation department. I tried to phone from the store, again no answer. The consultant tried to phone, no answer either. They lodged two formal complaints on their system, I sent another Facebook message and I left the store. On my way out I received a call asking if I had received my quote yet. Finally I had. I went straight back to the store, paid the quote, signed the quote, and e-mailed my signed quote plus proof of payment to the e-mail address listed on the cancellation quote. I then received a message on Facebook saying they had received my payment and would let me know when the cancellation would be complete. A few hours later they emailed me a new quote and messaged me on Facebook to ask me if I had received the quote. I told them they had already acknowledged receipt of payment and that I had emailed the pop and signed quote already. They asked to see where they had acknowledged the payment and I had to screenshot the proof of payment and the conversation where they have acknowledged that I had already paid. NOW they are asking me to send them ANOTHER signed copy of the quote, ANOTHER proof of payment and a copy of my ID. This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous, I have already paid and sent the POP to their email. They are so confused and out of sync with their IT systems. No one knows what is going on at that company - all I want is for my contract to be cancelled and they make it impossible! Also, sidenote: I had no problem getting through to the upgrades department when I phoned!! I've been a loyal Vodacom customer for 18 years, this is no way to treat your clients.
