I'm not even a customer yet and I'm forced to complain!

I'm not even a customer yet and I'm forced to complain!

Background

I have started a new consulting company and wish to port my MTN out of contract number (which is in my personal name) into my business name and take out a new business contract with Vodacom as I have been bitterly unhappy with MTN of late. A few weeks ago I called the Vodacom Business number and an agent promised to email me the forms. Needless to say, these never arrived. In the call they did mention that it is easier to apply in store.

The start of bad service

So having not received any email I decided to go in-store and went to the Vodacom shop on Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton. The agent in store was quite helpful, but said it might be an issue that my business has only one month of bank statements, despite the extremely positive cashflow. I supp**** all my company registration documents, the bank statements and I signed a personal surety. So should the business be unable to pay, Vodacom would have easy legal recourse against me in my personal capacity. They asked for an additional letter of authority which I provided together with four months of my personal bank statements. Despite many calls from my side, the store could not get approval for the contract I wanted from Vodacom head office. I also supp**** them with my current MTN bill which shows monthly spend in excess of R2000 (keep in mind the contract I am asking for costs R1599 p/m.) The contract I am asking for is 1200m, 4GB data and an iPhone x 256GB for R1599p/m The only contract they are offering me is 250m 500mb data and an iPhone X 256GB for R1300 p/m saying that the reason is credit risk!! So Vodacom wants to charge me much more, for much less and are saying it’s due to credit risk. I don’t accept that at all! If this was a ********** contract it would be to get the phone not to get minutes!! On top of this, if I wanted to deceive Vodacom I wouldn’t port a contract number that has been on contract on another network for over 10 years, I would simply get a new number.

Vodacom’s reasoning is ridiculous! • I have provided the full application with business bank statements showing affordability • I have provided a personal surety • I have provided personal bank statements in support of the surety • I have provided proof of my current MTN bills • I even offered to pay a deposit of R10,000

And still Vodacom has not helped me!!

They let me walk out of the store saying nothing can be done!!

Come on Vodacom – you can do better than this!

Reviewer Update
So a week has passed since my complaint and is it resolved? You would think that is should be, but it seems that my complaint is not that important to Vodacom, if at all? I lodged my complaint last Friday (13 April.) I received what can only be an almost automated response acknowledging the complaint on the same day. An agent called me on Sunday (15 April) to get a reference number I had already included in the original complaint. The same agent then called me on 17 April to say that they couldn't trace the reference number I had given them (which by the way is the reference number Vodacom gave me.) How it took two whole days to come back to me I really don't understand. I provided my ID number and other details. Wednesday - no reply. Thursday - I called the number the agent called me from multiple times, no answer! Today - I called again multiple times with no answer! So Vodacom, I ask you again, are you going to resolve this?
