*******ly deducting money from my account

Dear hellopeter.com,

Today Vodacom again proofed to me that they will not just loose my current and future business, but also those of my wife and whoever else of my social media contacts I can convince.

I've been on the phone for about 2 hours this morning being transferred from one consultant to another, from one department to another (Business, Contracts, Legal, Accounts, Customer Care), being cutoff and dropped during the process and after having spoken to 7 plus consultants who keep on saying that they cannot assist me and that they will have to transfer me, the call dropped again and I've given up.

I've cancelled my Vodacom Business Data Contract during April 2016, ending 31 May 2016. I phoned Vodacom Business on 31 May to confirm that the cancellation was on their system and to see what the final debit order deduction will be. The consultant confirmed then that the account was cancelled and from 1 June 2016 it will be a prepaid sim. The final billing amount would be via debit order on 1 June 2016 to the value of R 38.39. I was satisfied.

BUT WAIT... then I got a socker. On 1 June 2016 Vodacom decided to debit my cheque account with R 1,717.83. This after I've never received such a bill on this account over the past two years. Why would I? It's a 2Gig data account used as backup for when I'm not using my WiFi at home or at work. I immediately responded via email to Vodacom Customer Care and Vodacom Business via email asking for an explanation and indicating to them that I've reversed the debit order due to this dispute logged. I received a reference number from Vodacom Customer Care: 001CXaBNJ527E6C0 indicating that they cannot assist me, but Vodacom Business should. Since then I've sent 4 more emails to ********** and ********** with this reference number asking for feedback; NO response from either of them. Mails were sent on 10 June, 20 June, 4 July, 6 July and 2 August 2016.

Then today... again I was shocked to see Vodacom decided to deduct R 1,817 from my cheque account via debit order even after I've stopped it twice with FNB and requested a debit order cancellation with Vodacom. Again I reversed this debit order with comments that it was unauthorised and there was a disputed logged.

Vodacom's consultants cannot provide me with proof as to why I'm being billed these two amounts since they claim the account was cancelled and deleted. My next question is then... Why should I then be billed for something they cannot proof? I've not used this sim card more than usual in May 2016, how can they just decide to bill me and not provide me with factual proof of why and furthermore, should there have been any data usage during May 2016 that exceeded the 2Gigs available, how would it get to R 1,717.38? This after I rarely to never used it. This truely sounds like Consumer ***** and ****************.

Anyway, since Vodacom have not given me any other option I have to share this with you and on social media. I will continue to stop and reverse this debit order. I won't pay any legal fees or interest charged. I'm waiting on Vodacom to fix this billing issue. I'm saying goodbye and good rithens to Vodacom.

Regards,

Jacques
