******* Vodacom rate increases on contracts?

Effective May 2018 subscription charges on each of the phones on my contract was increased by 17%. The discount on the package remained the same with the result that the effective increase on my package equals 29%. Vodacom call centre maintains they have the right to change the subscription fees despite the fact that a valid contract exists which only expires in August 2019.

The contract clearly states that the terms and conditions may not be altered and nowhere is a provision that the rates may be changed.
