******* SUBSCRIPTION CHARGES

I had a phone call from Vodacom yesterday offering to up my package to include more data as I seem to be going over my limit by between R500 and R600 per month. I was quite surprised as I have plenty data left at the end of every month so I reviewed a few of my previous statements.

I have noticed daily charges from 4 companies that I have never heard of or subscribed to. • Basebone Mediafilez Silver • Opera Telecom Androidp • SmartcalT Top 10 • VodaphoneL AirG Gold

I asked them to investigate and arrange for a full refund of all these unknown charges from inception as I have never engaged them or their services in any way.

These charges started appearing on my account without my knowledge!

For me to even find out basic information about my account I need to go through multiple questions and verifications of who I am but Vodacom allows these foreign entities to just add themselves to my bill!

VERY concerning!

VODACOM returned an email to me with an excel spreadsheet saying it was proof of my subscription. It merely shows line items of the content providers with an authorisation result of ‘approved’.

This shows NO proof of me subscribing to the services whatsoever.

I will not be paying for it any further and insist on a full refund of previous charges.

I WILL be handing this over to my attorney and to the necessary social media channels, journalists and tv in order to receive justice for these ******* charges to my account.

Vodacom at the very least, if not to blame, does play a part in enabling these transactions to the detriment of their own customers. I can only guess at this point that Vodacom is also getting some sort of financial kickback out of this practice and as such makes them an accomplice!

They have contacted me but resolution is nowhere in site! They told me that SOME services need to be cancelled through WASP - I contacted them yesterday but have had no response. Other subscription services, I have to log into Vodaphone Live to cancel which I have never done before and this is apparently also how you sign up for these services. When I did this I had to go though verifications and one time pin SMS’s etc just to log in UNLIKE the additions to my bill. When I finally got in I looked under subscriptions as directed only to find that I have NO active subscriptions! Hmm so why have I had these charges off my account? I asked Kubeshni from Vodacom how long Air Gold has been coming off my account and what it was. I got a return email that was virtually identical to the email she sent me yesterday saying I need to go to the Vodaphone site and unsubscribe these services. Vodacom is either simply not understanding the position they have put me in or just simply don’t care! I cannot put up with the ignorance any longer, questions are not answered and the buck is being passed to WASP. Vodacom charged me, Vodacom are liable to prove that these charges are properly validated and authorized by myself.

and I still wait..... Vodacom is supposed to gain my authorisation via a ‘confirmation step’ in whatever format, sms email, phone call. I have not had any of these. Vodacom CANNOT provide any proof of my subscription to these services that have cost me thousands of rands. Again I ask for proof of my subscription to these services! VODACOM IS *****ING THEIR CUSTOMERS MONEY!!

After not having joy through VODACOM customer care line I turned to HelloPeter to get some attention. It at least got some communication happening but we’re at the stuck record phase right now where they are repeating the same thing and not answering the direct question of ‘show me any proof of me subscribing to these services’. I will have to turn to FaceBook now. Vodacom has ****** my hard earned money and they are now *****ing my valuable time as well. Go VODACOM go!
