******* Sim Swop that Vodacom cannot assist with

For the past 12 years, I have been a very loyal Vodacom customer. But, it seems the good service I used to tell people about, is up in flames! I've had to resort to laying complaints on social platforms to get ANY assistance twice, and this time around, not even public complaints seem to help.

The latest issue; on 3 January a number I use for work (WhatsApp only) was *******y sim swopped. The person that stole my number is using it to **** others out of money. This number is all over websites and marketing, so it's a little more involved than simply changing the number.

I have been attempting to swop the number since Monday... unsuccessfully. Because (and this is the excuse from Call Centre) they send the number an SMS to ask if they want to do a Sim swop; obviously Mr ******* would phone and cancel the Sim Swop... repeatedly.

Wednesday the Call Centre sent me back to a Vodashop. I landed with a very helpful person at Vodashop Hatfield, Bruce. He then also phoned the call centre, they weren't very nice to him either (I could hear the discussion). They told him I need to go to the Police for an affidavit (couldn't maybe tell me that all the times I called) and then go back to the branch where they will submit the paperwork for the swop and to flag the number.

Two hours later, I had done everything asked and was asked to please wait 24 - 48 hours for the Sim Swop to happen. Guess what? It hadn't been done yet. So, I went back to Bruce... He again phoned the Call Centre; and apparently Vodacom is offline, so sorry...

Nothing was done, not even an attempt was made to assist in this situation. I will now have to change a number everywhere and then spend money to warn my customers via other means that they could fall victim to a ******** because Vodacom does not know how to give me my number back and does not know how to treat customers any longer.

I can promise you, it will NOT be a Vodacom sim this time around.

The contact person that phoned me yesterday, promised to sort this out and return with feedback yesterday. They didn't (big surprise) and now the number is ported again.
