******* Migration of personal Cellphone number
I received an sms from Vodacom stating that my cellphone number had been migrated over to a business account. I called customer care immediately and was told that the number has been moved and they can’t give me any details. I eventually got through to a manager and went through the process of explaining that i did not authorise my number to be moved to a business account. He eventually had enough information to agree that my original account, which still had my other numbers attached to it, was the correct account and my number was in fact the primary number on that account. He then said he would have the technical guys move my account back onto my name as before. I logged the calls required and sent information through to the ***** department email to lay a charge against the business that migrated my account. I am still waiting for the technical team to switch my account back. It took the business owner 15 mins to migrate my number to his account with NO authorisation from me but Vodacom cannot move it back to my name, even with the account history to show it has been my primary number for the last 15 years. They should never have migrated that account in the first place and should have rectified this immediately. When trying to follow up on my request I was told that Vodacom cannot be held responsible for the mistake (really???) and that the technicians will get to it when they can. They have not managed to send me any documents to show that the person who took over my account had any authorization from me. I have been with Vodacom for 15 years and will most definitely be switching service providers
