******* activation of Contract Cover & 3 Hours Wasted to try & Cancel

I got an SMS this morning that Vodacom has (*******ly) activated a Contract Cover Policy. I have not heard of this before and I certainly did not agree to it. The sms offers a number to cancel and the message does not deliver to that number. The contact Centre number has led me down a rabbit hole: # Consultant 1: Karabo tells me her system is down & puts me through to the next person # Consultant 2: Pasetsana tells me I need to go through to the Cancellations department # Consultant 3: Tshepo in Cancellations tells me I need to go through to the Insurance division # Consultant 4: Nobody answers the Insurance call and I get cut off (this is after about an hour’s ordeal) # Consultant 5: ToBi the virtual chat bot tells me to expect a call # Consultant 6: Tshoko calls back on a bad line and the call dies. She does not bother to call back # Consultant 7: I try the chat bot again. Absolutely useless piece of frustrating tech that should be deactivated # Consultant 8: I send a DM on Facebook Messenger. They give me the number for the insurance division # Consultant 9: I speak to Shane who tell me they do not sell this cover so I need to go through to cancellations department (AGAIN). I explain that I’ve been there and they told me I need the insurance department. She puts me on hold. I was on hold for just under half an hour # Consultant #10: Mpho finally comes through on the line and cancels the policy.

A. So, here we have a policy that was activated *******ly without consent (or explanation). B. We have an incorrect SMS number included in the activation sms so you cannot simply cancel it by following their erroneous instruction C. We have incompetence in almost every department who cannot help & just cancel this D. We have a company that was not only about to ***** my money but they have also ****** neatly 3 hours of my last day of the year

What kind of Mickey Mouse operation is this anyway???
