If you're looking to order fibre from Vodacom, read this:
Hello,
If you're looking to purchase fibre for your home through Vodacom, and would like some insight about their service first, here it is.
A couple of days ago I ordered fibre with the option to receive LTE while I wait until fibre is fully ready in my area. Upon waiting I have received a confirmation call saying that my order and vetting were approved and my router will be delivered to my house in 3-5 workings days.
Just like any person would be, I was very excited and happy with their quick service and operation. However, 5 days had gone by and I called them for a follow-up and the agent told me that their system says that my application is still under vetting. As confusing as that was, I told the consultant that I received a call saying that my order and vetting has been approved and she said that she will escalate the problem. A about 2 days days went by and I got the same phone call I first got, saying that my order and vetting was approved and I will receive my router in 3-5 days.
5 days later during the evening I called again for an update, and I was told my order is still in vetting and I'll have to wait till it's approved.
It's been almost 2 weeks since I've placed my order and still haven’t received anything yet. Bear in mind that's its only a router and sim that needs to be delivered, there is no set up required for LTE or anything else, either than just delivering a router to my house. But not even that can be done.
Having ordered fibre from Vodacom is probably the biggest headache and confusing process one could ever find themselves in. I'm not sure what the problem is, if it is there system, or their workers that aren't doing their job correctly but I can tell you that it is a massive headache. I am tired of waiting and expecting something good to happen but even that is useless because it seems that your order isn’t actually processed in the first place.
Just be aware of this before you order from them.
