This morning, I sent the following message to Vodacom WhatsApp Chatbot.
“Good day,
I have reported this to Vodacom several times before, but the problem persists.
Around the end of the month, I cannot access the internet.
I suspect that it is because of user increase. At the end of the month people get paid and can afford to buy data. The Vodacom network is clearly not design to cope with the increased demand.
However, this needs to be corrected and not just ignored.
[I gave them my address details, including GPS co-ordinates and all contact numbers]
The data only number (in my router): [***]
Contact number: [***]
The contract (Account number: ***) is in my wife’s name.
My wife’s contact number (on the same contract) is: [***]
Please could you escalate the problem to whoever can sort it out. Thank you”
I sent it from my phone (non-Vodacom client) because, clearly my wife wasn’t able to access the Vodacom network.
I got the following idiotic response:
“I'm sorry but it seems you are not a Vodacom customer.”
Dear Vodacom, If I was a Vodacom client I would have been able to send you the message as I would have been able to access the Vodacom network. You are getting the message because I am not a Vodacom client. READ THE MESSAGE!!!
