On 20 April 2016, I got an sms from my bank about a stop oder of R211.50 from vodacom. I was shocked because I have never owned a contract phone or airtime from them. i then called the call centre to find out what was going home. I dint receive much help from the agent I spoke to. I then assumed it was a mistake and reversed the money back to my account. On 27 May 2016, I received another sms from my bank advising me of a stop order amounting to R 880 to Vodacom. The reference number was *** I***7. When I called Vodacom, I was told that someone had taken a contract with my name and ID number. I dont even recognise the cellphone number that is getting all those benefits and the agent that I spoke to named portia could not even tell me where the contract was opened or what steps I can take to resolve this. I am now afraid that this will ruin my credit record. I was told that a Vodacom technician will call me to resolve this but it has been 3 days and no one has gotten back to me.
