I was tripped into contract

I am not happy with how vodacom dealt with my account.<br> <br> Firstly, I got a phone call, which I was informed that it is recoded. someone offered me discounted airtime which was going to be available to me the next day.<br> <br> Airtime was available but my phone was converted from prepaid to contract.<br> <br> I called the service provider the very next day informing them that I was not interested in a contract, I was under the impression that I was going to get airtime at discounted rate as the ''seller'' explained to me. I then asked for this contract to be cancelled.<br> <br> When I spoke with someone from vodacom, I was informed that I had to pay about R1500 for my phone to be converted back to prepaid because I was now in bridge of contract or my phone will be blocked. I informed them that I didn't have that kind of money and if they wanted to block my number they can go ahead and block. this was done within 3 days.<br> <br> 1. Why was I not informed that my phone will be converted to contract, why tell me that you offering discounted airtime when in actual fact you are tricking me on to a contract?<br> <br> 2. Now I am getting calls from lawyers about my account handed to them, what is that?
