I'm an irrelevant client that no one will speak too....

Yikes, having gone into Vodacom in Greenacres Shopping centre...I made the mistake of agreeing to an upgrade. After having been a customer for years I am suddenly irrelevant and unable to speak to anyone who will actually assist me.

I upgraded a tablet for a new one, which was provided to me in store on the 24th April 2017....this device has never worked, from being impossible to set up (even with the help of the tech guys in Vodacom) to even reading the sim card, nothing worked and no assisatnce was provided...so on Monday the 15th May I eventually gave up, returned the device to the store and advised them I wanted to cancel the upgrade. At the time the manager, Bernie, was friendly and acknowledged my frustration - she confirmed she would assist with the cancellation of the contract. After having not heard anything for a week I called the customer care line to be told no cancellation was requested by the store, I requested to speak to a manager and was told that a Yolande from Vodacom Cancellation department would call me back....I suppose no one is surprised that I was not called back. Today I follow up yet again, the store tells me the device is in for repairs and that no cancellation has been requested because the store doesnt want to loose money for the device - they first want confirmation that they will be creditted. I call Vodacom customer care, who advise me that my complaint is irrelevant and that I can speak to a manager....but will just have to hold the line indefinately as they dont know when one will be available.

As per the consultant on the line (who would not give me any form of reference number for my call), my call to Vodacom is irrelevant, Vodacom Customer Care cannot/will not call their own Vodacom outlet to assist me .... so where does that leave me? Hello Peter - please can someone assist me with this? Tsego from Customer care promised a Yolanda would call me back, Sibongo from Customer care said call was irrelevant and I had to go back to the store....and the store manager, Berney, says she has the device checked in for repairs and that I cant cancel until she has confirmation that the store will be credited for the cancelation fee and device.
