I found out my insurance lapsed after trying to claim for a ****** device

I’ve been a customer for nearly 5 years. During my second year after taking out my second contract, my phone was ****** and replaced a month later. However, this year I took out a third contract with a prepaid number. I wasn’t made aware that Vodasure charges a pro-rata fee. A month ago an unauthorised amount of R895 was debited from my account , I reversed this as I had not approved any debi check. I later called vodasure and I was told that I was double debited and this would be investigated. I was ensured that investigation would take a month. A few days ago this device was ******, I was told this insurance lapsed but this had not been brought to my attention beforehand. The rude consultant I spoke to advised this was my responsibility, after only receiving most of this information on the day of this call. I would not recommend getting insurance at Vodasure specifically on a prepaid number!

Good day,

As per 1st discussion on the 1st of July, I was not made aware of the pro rata as I have not been a prepaid customer. This was an unauthorised debit order as I had not approved it. My account was debited on the 29th of June with the amount of R859, I called vodasure and was told that my account had been double debited as Vodacom had already been paid. Why wasn’t I explained about this on that specific day? Instead I was told that there would be an investigation that would take a month. Can this call be provided or listened to? A month later this phone was ****** and a month later was the first time I was told about this…

There was no Debi check mandate that I had to approve, I reversed it. I was not made aware of any of the above until 16/08/2024.. As mentioned previously I have been a Vodacom customer for the past 5 years. I’ve only been using and paying for insurance through Vodacom and have not dealt directly with vodasure.
