I am telling everyone who cares to listen about my terrible experience
I wish there could be more players in the telecoms game and hopefully one that can outsmart Vodacom because I have had about enough of dealing with their inefficiencies. Yesterday I had an open line with a 1Gb limit until a lady called me from Vodacom to say that they are migrating customers with my contract type because i was paying too much for my email and sms usage , something like R2+ for a single email and the same for a single sms. She promised the migration would reduce the cost to 30 to 40 + cents per email and similarly for each sms. I was told the migration is free and my existing contract Services would remain the same. She further told me that I would be migrated to a my red plan that would get me 2GB which if not used up would be carried over. She told me this was not the case with my current plan, meaning used data was forfeited every month. I was startled by the cost of a single email when using my data and therefore it made sense to agree to the migration. She did advise that there would be a R90 rands additional charge for the new data plan and I said fine because I would make a saving on the sms and email charge. I specifically told her that I am agreeing to the change based on what she told me but wanted no other changes to my contract plan, meaning my open line would remain and all other services. Moments later I get an sms saying that “ You have successfully deactivated Out-of-Bundle Data Limit Lock. You will now be charged out-of-bundle rates when bundles are depleted. T&Cs apply”
I then tried to make a call and found that my limit has been reached which meant changes had been made to my open line - why??? I did not ask for this. To this moment I can’t make calls because of this unauthorised change to my plan. Questionable ethics in the manner in which you conduct sales and incredible sign of incompetence. I should have know better , I mean which supplier calls you on a Friday to tell you they are going to basically save you money by reducing costs. She steam rolled through the “pitch” but I tried to listen carefully and the take home for me was that I was going to pay less on my data usage and the migration was for my benefit. Since then I have been frantically trying to undo this process which I was told I had up until the end of the month to cancel if I wanted to - mind you she is calling me on the last day of the month. I have made calls after calls and from the ones that are not dropped I have spoken to three people. The is one I Smangele who acknowledged that from I told her the sales person did not explain the migration properly and Smangele from Mondo who said it is not the first time she deal with this issue. She logged a call for me and promised to escalate to the cancellations department “ Hi there, you recently interacted with Smangele from Mondo. Please take a moment to rate your experience https://www.hellopeter.com/write-a-review/mondo. Vodacom Cancellations is *** quote ref/ ***. Mondo Team“ Smangele was quite professional, calm and helpful but the issue is still not resolved. Since then I have spoken to others and the experience is levels and levels below pathetic. My calls are dropped and now I’m being told it’s a process to resolve the issue. The one gentleman I spoked even tried to divert my attention to another number that I use and noted that I am paying R79 and promised to make it cheaper and so he proceeded to make a change in that regard but who knows ?? Here is that reference” Dear, your Upgrade Order *** for your Vodacom number *** has been completed”
The issue to resolve is now all of a sudden a process - wow!! How fresh that Vodacom makes the process to undo things that customers are unhappy about complicated yet in the flashes of flashes your migration is done by a sales consulted who steamrolls through the process as it she was on a relay race timer. No good at all. I am furious and want to be reverted to my previous plan immediately!!!
