I AM BEING PENALISED FOR VODACOM'S ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT ERROR

I have multiple BUSINESS contracts with Vodacom altogether costing me around R 10 000.00 per month. Some of those contracts date back to 2008. For some reason these contracts are spread across FOUR different Vodacom account numbers. On 01 March 2017 my four separate debit orders for the four different accounts went off as normal. On 02 March 2017 they were returned due to an error from my bank’s side. I called the Vodacom call centre to find out what the best course of action was, I was told that due to my impeccable credit record with Vodacom and due to the fact that my accounts had never had a debit order returned in their multi-year history it wouldn’t be a problem, Vodacom would simply double debit me in April in order to bring the accounts back up to date and into good standing. I was relieved to hear as much and carried on with my life. On 23 May 2017 I received an SMS saying that I was in arrears for R 16 000.00 with Vodacom and had been handed over to a legal company named MBD FOR DEBT COLLECTION??. I assumed that this was a phishing **** so I contacted the Vodacom call centre immediately to verify. I was connected to one MAMPHALE MAPHISA who was incredibly RUDE and unhelpful. She informed me that my debit order for one of the four accounts was returned on 02 March 2017 and that I was then handed over to the legal department on the 03 March 2017, and had subsequently then been handed over to the attorneys MBD, the amount that was returned and I was in arrears for: R 281.02 When I tried to explain the situation to her she simply told me that she was not going to assist me and that I should simply call the attorneys who I had been handed over to. Yes, that’s right, after being a loyal Vodacom business customer for more almost 10 years and having a spotless credit record with Vodacom during that time always paying via debit order and paying close to R 10 000.00 per month every month I was handed over the very next day for an amount of less than R300.00 My issues are as follows: 1. If Vodacom was happy to double debit 3 of my Business account direct debits in April and did so then why did they not also double debit my fourth account the same way? Why the double standard for 1 out of 4 od the accounts? Upon checking my Internet banking 3 of the accounts were indeed double debited in April as discussed and have continued to be debited as normal ever since. 2. How can Vodacom hand me over to their legal department for one of the four accounts for a debit order that was returned and not the other three? They were all returned on the same day from the same bank account. 3. How the hell can Vodacom hand me over to legal department for a debit order returned on the 2nd March 2017 on the 3rd of March 2017?? Literally one day after the debit order was returned?? Especially when no one at Vodacom bothered to contact me to bring the issue to my attention! 4. Why did nobody from Vodacom bother to contact me about the returned debit orders? I went out of my way to call the Vodacom call centre and enquire and was given information that everything was fine and that all accounts would be double debited in April to bring them back into good standing. How can you hand me over to the legal department one day after the debit is returned without even contacting me to enquire as whether I can do a manual payment to bring the account back up to date?? 5. Vodacom was very quick to hand my account over to Legal literally one day after the debit was returned on the 3rd March 2017 but it took them more than 3 months for this issue to be brought to my attention via an sms on 23 May 2017. For a tiny amount like R281.02 I could have gone in store and made payment over the counter or even made a manual EFT payment to avoid the lines being disconnected and handed over to a legal debt collection agency if someone from Vodacom had just bothered to pick up the phone and contact me. 6. I would love to understand how a 24-month contract of R 281.02 per month in arrears for 3 months (March, April, May) can accumulate to an outstanding debt of R16 000.00??? 7. Since this issue was brought to my attention I have paid this account up in full and continue to pay it monthly. However, I want these lines CANCELLED as they are now paid up in full and are up for renewal/ cancellation term anyway. This is totally unacceptable. This is an error from Vodacom's side, I did nothing wrong and am as a result of their negligence being penalised and am at risk of being blacklisted! I have multiple contracts that I pay in excess of R 10 000.00 per month. I am more than willing to pay the outstanding 3 months that have not been debited to bring the account back into good standing immediately once I have confirmation that the account in question has been pulled from the debt collectors and these debt collectors will no longer hound me. If this account is not cancelled with the collection agency with immediate effect with no cancellation fees to me and brought back to Vodacom to be reinstated I will be taking ALL my business to one of the other cellular providers. The Vodacom account number in question is B ********** -5.
