Huawei P8 Lite Microphone Fault

I upgraded to a Huawei P8 lite in February 2016 at the Vodacom Clearwater Mall branch. In no time I started experiencing problems with the microphone, where people whom I spoke to on the device could not hear me clearly, or loudly. I took the phone back to the Vodacom repair store in Sandton City Mall on the 2nd October 2016.

The report showed that there was no fault found [IMEI # ********** ********** 6 / JOB# ********** 5- ********** 1].

The phone was returned to me, but the problem persisted. I tried to endure the poor sound quality, but then returned the phone again to the same Vodacom repair centre in Sandton City Mall, on 26th February 2017, complaining about the same microphone problem. A new phone was issued to me.

The report made no reference to what the was identified as the root cause – only that the unit was exchanged [IMEI# ********** ********** 8 / JOB# ********** 0- ********** 9].

The problem cropped up again and I once again returned the phone to the same Sandton City branch two months later. [IMEI# ********** ********** 4 / JOB# ********** 7- ********** 6].

The phone starting giving issues not long after it was replaced. I once again tried to endure using the phone, and checked settings, but no joy. I returned the phone on 25th July 2017 – ONCE AGAIN TO THE SAME VODACOM REPAIR CENTRE IN SANDTON CITY MALL. AND ALL THEY DID WAS REPLACE THE PHONE AGAIN WITH ANOTHER HUAWEI P8 LITE!!

The report did not state what was identified, or what action was taken with the phone and this time around I only got the phone in a see-through plastic packet wrapped in bubble wrap. I cannot confirm what the IMEI number is for this phone, as it was not provided on the report. [JOB# ********** 8- ********** 0].

What infuriates me is that this Vodacom store has not once considered the fact that the same client has now returned a device for a total of FOUR TIMES to complain about the exact same problem with that phone!!! This is true insanity in expecting a different result when doing the exact same thing over and over again!!! Doesn’t Vodacom do any sort of trending or analysis, a basic requirement when offering a service to any client?????!!!!!!!

I still have a long way to go with my current contract, before an upgrade is due. As a paying client, I expect Vodacom to provide me with a working product that I am paying for month on month! Giving me the same device over and over again – new or not – I am facing the same problem and NOT BEING ABLE TO EVEN USE THE DEVICE GIVEN!!

1. I want to get my money’s worth – I want a device that works 100% accurately.

2. I want Vodacom to provide me with a device that works as promised when I was convinced to take this useless HUAWEI P8 LITE.

3. I DON’T WANT ANOTHER HUAWEI P8 LITE – MY EXPERIENCE IS THAT THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT !!!

4. I want Vodacom to give me a solution that works for ME, not convenient FOR VODACOM!!!
