How Vodacom discriminates between customers.

Recently I tried to upgrade my cellphone contract, which I have with Vodacom for as long as I can remember, only to be told that I need to pay an amount in order to the upgrade. This amount is not an arrears amount nor an amount for the handset. This amount I found out, was due to my credit profile with Vodacom. So as I understand it, due to my credit profile, I have to pay Vodacom an additional amount before they will let me upgrade. My account is not in arrears, and I pay it diligently every month. I'm not a big spender with Vodacom, because like so many other South Africans, I am under debt review, and have to manage my money with an iron fist. In this case, Vodacom is not affected by me being under debt review, due to them being a running expense and not outstanding debt. After numerous phone calls, I found out that my credit profile with Vodacom is due to me being under debt review. That's fair, they have to look after their business as well. Here's the doozy; My ex wife, under debt review as well, earning more or less the same as me, just upgraded both our children's contracts with absolutely no hassle. I find this a bit discriminating. I need to know how this process works. How is it that you discriminate against one person for being under debt restructuring as you call it, and others in the same predicament gets treated differently? Is it due to average spending with Vodacom? Is it due to the stupid legacy system some numbers are still on? Or is it an automated system that calculates one's credit profile? Either way, I am no longer satisfied with the answer Vodacom gave regarding my credit profile. And just as a foot note, If I pay you the R1500 or R2000 will that miraculously make my credit profile any better? It seems that Vodacom are committed coming up with creative ways to milk their customer base. Stop discriminating, what's good for one customer, should be good for another.
