How to lose a customer

I was called by Vodacom Direct, the sales person said she can reduce my bill to R260, and will include a free Modem and 100Gb of data and a R1000 gift voucher. I explained that the modem was not necessary, as I already have a fiber connection, and I live in an area where the coverage is poor so the service will not work well. She insisted it was a great deal combo deal, so I agreed as although I would struggle to find a use for the modem, my bill would be lower and I get a voucher. Imagine the horror when my bill was R820. Rather than spending hours on the phone, I went to my local Vodacom shop to sort out this miscommunication. They said they do not deal with Vodacom direct issues, and I must call them myself. Call #1 Rifilwe hung up on me. Call #2 Norma promised to escalate it and call me back in 72h – nothing. Call #3Goodwill said he will escalate it and call me at the end of the day. 3 days –no response. Call #4 Portia – said she cannot refer me to back to Goodwill to help, be she will escalate it again. She refused to give me an E-mail that I can contact them and correspond in writing. I went back to Vodacom shop to complain. They said they cannot assist me. They say they are inundated with customers who complain about Vodacom Direct misrepresenting themselves. They said I should ask for a reference number and follow it up. Call#5 Khumo: he refuse to give me a direct number for a supervisor, and said he’ll ask one to call me 5 minute s. Nobody called me back. Call #6 to Vodacom customer care, Xholani gave me a reference number 2-CT9UMUBUK, wrote an E-mail to escalate it, and they’d call me back. So far, that is 6 calls, and 2 visits to a shop, and each time giving my full details and holding for long periods of time, and not a single person from Vodacom has called me back.
