HOW TO LOSE A CLIENT OF ALMOST TWO DECADES IN ON SPLIT SECOND
So, I have found that airtime is suddenly disappearing within minutes of recharging my prepaid Vodacom airtime voucher. I tweeted and tweeted all the Vodacom service and support pages I could find. NOT a single courtesy of response at all was paid to my pleas for help. I then go to the Vodacom Shop in the Mall of Rosebank and query the matter with an agent. Without greeting me , she yawned rudely and took my phone (iPhone) and then without even asking for my password, she started going through my phone (how she got in baffles me still) without discussing anything with me and when I tried to see what she was doing, she pulled to one side. After a period of quiet scrolling she finally showed me a message (SMS) that she had uninstalled an app which I KNOW I DID NOT DOWNLOAD. In fact, I am pedantic about what apps I have on my phone and only this week went through a cleaning process. I do not even have IG or Facebook downloaded on my phone which seems unheard of but I prefer my privacy. I have a PC and access significant things that way. My phone – MY CHOICE!!! When I told her that I did not download the app she looked at me with a totally bland expression and took another customer. I found her treatment of me contemptable Meanwhile in my flabbergasted state of frustration and annoyance as I exited the store, I simply decided to port out to another service provider. I immediately walked right into the shop next door and was attended to by a well-mannered kind young man with a female colleague sitting in the next cubicle who overheard my albeit emotionally executed (hey I’m human) experience and who empathised with me, actually apologizing that I had been treated so badly. I ported from Vodacom to Cell C with not so much as a moment of hesitation. It has been a seamless transition. If SAffas continue to accept abusive treatment by continuing to support BIG BULLY businesses, we will never be able to change the status quo but instead we will be feeding the troll of complacency and condoning the often-disrespectful undisciplined frontline staff who represent the Boss company with zero ambition to rise above their rotten attitudes. What’s that modern urban proverb again? …Oh yes, when top management is indifferent … it filters to the very bottom of the food chain. The more indifferent it gets … the day might arrive (AS IT HAS BEFORE!) in the mediocrity such as that of a flopped souffle (wanted to say SOE) ..which rises and rises and then it collapses ..just like that!! B O O M *
