How long can it take to restore a signal ???

Writing this review from Steytlerville in the Eastern Cape. The inhabitants of this town are dependent on the Vodacom tower for the bulk of communications - not only Vodacom but MTN clients get their signal from the tower. Even my telkom landline - a fixed wireless phone is reliant on this tower. Businesses are dependent on it for credit card transactions (petrol station, hotels, guest houses and most other retail outlets).

On Thursday afternoon 11th Oct. 18 at around 3pm the tower was out of order. A Vodacom technician was only sent out the following morning and service was finally restored at around 11:30am. Everyone grinns and bears the inconvenience hoping that there are no medical emergencies or any other such catastrophe for which one would urgently need use of a signal. But then - two days later on Sunday mid afternoon the 14th Oct. 18 after a bout of thunder - nothing extraordinary however - we loose signal again. The matter was reported to Vodacom by someone who drove through to Uitenhage not long after. Apparently there are no backup technicians working on a Sunday??? Expecting some form of response by latest 10am on Monday morning - alas none. It is now 14:30pm on Monday and still no signal (almost 24 hours). Is this acceptable ? Will anything be done to rectify the problem with this tower and make sure that there is some form of backup whenever the tower goes down ? With summer approaching and the likelihood of many a thunderstorm what are our chances of relying on Vodacom to keep us connected ?

Thank you for your prompt response assuring me that a consultant will make contact with me in due course. Just wondering how your consultant will be contacting me - I mentioned that the town has no signal - I mention that even my landline uses the Vodacom tower for a signal. I take it that you did indeed read carefully through my review. Will your consultant contact me by sending smoke signals ???

The weak rhetoric is nauseating but thanks for the attempt.
