How is Vodacom still in business????

I don't often take to social platforms to air my grievances but enough is enough and Vodacom must be taken to task for their non-existent customer service.

I decided two weeks ago that I wanted to upgrade from PAYG to a contract. This should be exactly the type of business Vodacom hope to acquire. It increases the average revenue per user and provides value certainly for at least the next 24 months.

I tried applying online, being relatively tech savvy. No good. You're asked for very basic details and then told that you will receive a call from the new business department. Why not just let me complete my full app online like other companies do? I then had to deal with the usual spell your last name for me, KO... KC... KOK... This went on for 20 minutes. Eventually done! I was told I would receive a call from the confirmations department to confirm my order, whatever for? Anyway, the confirmations guys phoned and quoted my contract at R200 more than the contact that I agreed with the online sales rep. It took them 7 days to cancel the original order and issue a new one, absolutely unacceptable.

Eventually, my new phone arrived, but things weren't the same. Here are the issues:

- Every time I phone Vodacom I am automatically diverted to business support who then have to listen to my entire story and eventually transfer me to consumer support. When I query this I am told that only the business department deals with Red contracts. The business department says negative, they cannot help. This is repeated EVERY time I call the call centre.

- Visual Voicemail no longer works. OK, so I followed the instructions online and then get told that the service number to activate Visual Voicemail is no longer in service, 123 and that I should call the call centre, refer above again.

- Visual Voicemail was eventually activated, I received a confirmation SMS. The only thing is that it hasn't. Phoned customer support AGAIN, refer above, the useless-as-****-on-a-bull service agent told me that I must now take my phone to a Vodacom store for them to activate it because the system says it's done and she can't ask a technician to assist.

- There is no record anywhere or the value-add services that I should have received with my new contract. New Every Year (Band 3), 6 Month Deezer Subscription, 10GB Once Off Promotional Data

Over the past 3 days, I have spent close on 3 hours on the phone to Vodacom, most of which has been listening to ****py hold music and being pushed from pillar to post talking to *********** support staff.

Vodacom, I imagine that your primary task is to increase your average revenue per user and attract new users to your services. How the hell do you expect to achieve this if your new customer and customer service department are in such a dire state? Customer service is non-existent. You may say well that's ok, it's just one consumer. Think about this, what happens if this one consumer has 1000 or 2000 staff reporting to them and decides that Vodacom is no longer able to support them. Will you listen then?

Mr Joosub and Mr Mabunda how do you justify your R21.4 million and R5.9 million salaries respectively, when it is so evidently clear that you could not even organise a **** up in a brewery.

Your vanilla response is just not good enough and should not be considered a response! Still no phone call!

Guess what Vodacom, I'm still waiting for you to call. VVM has been "activated" but is still not working.
