How difficult can you make it to cancel a cellphone contract

On 14th July, I emailed the signed premature cancellation quote, together with proof of payment and ID.

By the 19th of July, I had not heard from Vodacom so send a mail requesting confirmation that the contract has been cancelled and that I will not be liable for further costs post 14th July. The consultant contacted me on the evening of 19th July to advise that they had not received my cancellation request. I was asked by the consultant to send through the documentation together with proof of email sent on 14th July. This I did on the morning of 20th July.

On the evening of 20th July, another consultant contacted me in the evening to advise that they were unable to open the attachment and if I could resend the documentation again. I re-submitted the documentation (now for the 3rd time). I then received an email indicating that my request would be forwarded to the cancellation department but the number that the quoted was not the same as mine number.

I then had to go back to Vodacom to explain that the quotation is inactual fact correct because the cancellation was for my daughter's phone and not mine.

I then received another call from the consultant who advised that I not submitted the signed quote. I had to explain that I had in actual fact submitted it 3 times. I had to explain to the consultant that I was not requesting a cancellation for my number but for my daughter's which is correct as per the quote.

What does it take to get confirmation from Vodacom that the correct number is cancelled and that I am not liable for further costs post 14th July.
