horrified, disgusted, appalled and completely disappointed

I took out a contract with Vodacom at Cape gate mall. I got myself a 3g ****le and laptop. firstly after having to provide my documents twice due to them ' being lost ' i finally walk out with my stuff. 2 months go by, and my ****le got cut off. Only after having to wait hours on call, to be told that my account is overdue. To my surprise, they were not able to debit my account like I signed for. Apparently, that was now my problem. I had to go in store to pay my account that was in arrears and then penalty fees. A few months go by, my ****le still not working. I could not care less. As long as they were taking their monthly instalment, it was fine. Then, to be told I need to contact them as my account is STILL in areas and now they are threatening to hand me over. I said I have all the proof and all the phone calls to prove I have now been begging them to take my money each month which they are not doing. I thought it might be a problem with my bank, so just for them, I go and open a new bank account just for them. I get on the phone immidietly. I was assisted by a very kind gentleman who took my whole statement and my banking details so I can get my account paid off within 6 months as I did not want to be bothered by them anymore. Then, I get another SMS 2 hours later, saying I have now been handed over. I call again but to the accounts legal department. she said she had no record of my conversation 3 hours earlier and no recall of me giving my bank details to anyone. I asked her to escalate my issue as now I am getting upset. I arranged with the previous guy to pay a certain amount over a month period, but they have no recall of it. I then again, give the lady all my info, my bank account number and everything. I got a 3rd SMS saying I have been handed over.

I called her again and asked her to pull every single thing that has happened on my account since purchasing the laptop.

I got an email saying my issue has been escalated and I will be contacted within 7-14 working days with an outcome. I kept the full amount of money in my account in case they finally got it right to debit my account. NOTHING !!

it was 31 calendar days later, I had still not heard a single word. I tried to make contact, but no one knew what was going on and could not find my info or anything !!

I have been handed over since, but I am ready to take this further. I have all the proof of payments and correspondence on my end, but they cannot find a single thing.

Vodacom is a company I would not recommend getting an account with. unless you want to be ****** from and have your name handed over while being in the process of applying for a bond.

I am truly disgusted and will be going to the consumer protection act.
