Horrible Upgrade and Cancellation experience
I have had a horrible experience trying to upgrade and cancel.
I had a contract phone for around 2 years now. Contract was suppose to end end of February. I wanted to do an upgrade. For almost a month long I struggled because they kept getting the delivery address and contact number wrong. I had to phone in 5 times just to get updates in what is delaying the process. Each time they ensure the number and address has been updated and correct, each time they are wrong. In the end I was so fed up, I asked them to cancel the upgrade and the contract. If I had known it would be this much of a hassle to do an upgrade, I would have cancelled the contract earlier as normal.
Low and behold, 2 months afterwards they put through a debit order for this same contract I cancelled. I phoned in to find out what is going on as this was suppose to cancelled. The first thing they told me was that the cancellation was never processed and that they needed to put the cancellation through again and investigate what happened. That means they need to put through another debit order for something I cancelled 2 months ago.
They phoned me back after the investigation about the cancellation, turns out they put it in for end of May and not end of April and they did not inform me. Even though I phoned in early April, it was not early enough for Vodacom. So they scheduled it end of May so that they can take 2 more debit order from me, that will be around a R1000 now,
I don't see how this is fair at all. They mess up an upgrade and have me stuck with a contract I no longer want. If it wasn't for the upgrade, I would have cancelled in time. But they kept messing up again and again and now I have to sit with the consequences.
That is not how you treat customers or handle this situation. You don't make several mistakes on your side and make the client pay for them. It is disgusting behaviour and I will advice anyone wanting to use Vodacom to stay away from them.
