Horrible service

Debit order went off almost a week late in July. Debit order bounced because funds had been transferred by then to other account. Was informed by Vodacom TODAY that I still owe installment for July (FOUR MONTHS LATER), and that my July bill will be added to October bill, via debit order that is going of TODAY. Debit orders not going off on arranged dates, no feedback regarding arrears payment for FOUR MONTHS, and no feedback to inform me that a bill for an extra R820 would be going off today, without allowing me enough time to make sure sufficient funds will be available.

I have no problem paying what I owe, but then my debit orders needs to go off on the arranged dates, not a week later, I need to be informed timeously if there is a problem, not 4 months later, and I would appreciate if I could be warned if the arrears amount is to be added to this months' bill beforehand, not on the day the debit order goes off. What if it goes off today, and I have insufficient funds in my account because I did not know about it. This will then reflect negatively on my credit score, all caused by a Vodacom, not my own doing.

Yes I did speak to the Subscriber Collections Division, and they could not help me with my problem. They could not tell me why my debit order went off late. They could not tell me why it took Vodacom four months to inform me that I owed money. And they could also not tell me why a debit order for an extra R868,83 would go off today, without any arrangements being made with me, or even just informing me timeously that it would happen, so I could insure I have sufficient funds available. If the debit order goes off today, and the funds are insufficient, as I did not know it would be more than normal, and it bounced again, it is not Vodacom's problem if it reflects badly on my credit record. The same way it reflected badly on my credit record when the debit order went off too late in July, through no fault of my own.

In other words, having spoken to your Subscriber Collections Division did not solve my problem. In fact, it was horrible service. All the attendant could do was say how sorry she was, but give me zero answers as to how this will be fixed. So I would appreciate a call from someone that could actually help.

Oh and now after checking my bank statements I find what is going on. After the debit order bounced on 5 July, I made the outstanding payment on 8 July. But then, THEN, no debit order went off on 1 August. Only again on 1 September. So the outstanding amount is because YOU, VODACOM, did not deduct a debit order on 1 August. Not MY fault, YOUR fault!
