Horrible Service

I have an interest of having access to wifi in my place of residence and I made contact with Vodacom about a week ago for assistance as it is the network I have been using for the past 19 years. I did not know that my decision to make contact with Vodacom is one I was going to seriously regret because of the following chain of events: On Monday, 8 March 2021 I had a visit from technicians from Vumatel who came to install fibre cables at my place of residence. On Tuesday, 9 March 2021 a courier company delivered a router to my physical address. On Wednesday, 10 March 2021 at about 18:40 I decided to call the fibre installation number of Vodacom (***). the reason for the call was to find out the next next step in the installation process. I must admit that I was expecting a phone call from Vodacom after the delivery of the router before even making the phone call to guide me through the rest of the process. A consultant that picked up my call told me that he is sending information to your internal channels for the activation of the wifi. On Thursday, 11 March 2021 a technician came to my place of residence to activate the wifi. He discovered that the router that was delivered to me on 9 March 2021 is faulty. He had another one in his possession that he went to pick up. He immedialtely made contact with Vodacom in my presence to inform them about the change of router and he also forwarded information pertaining to the new router in order for the activation to happen. He informed me that Vodacom will notify me when activation is concluded. On The same day after the departure of technician I phoned Vodacom to confirm if the activation process was indeed in progress. A consultant I spoke to at about 12:00 on 11 March 2021 informed that she is sending the information for activation and the process will not exceed 48 hours. She immediately sent me an email to confirm that development with the following Service Request Number: SR***. On Saturday, 13 March 2021 at 12:37 I phoned Vodacom because 48 hours had elapsed and no activation had taken place. A consultant that picked up the call told me that the registered information for activation was for the faulty router. The information shocked me because the technician that I saw on 11 March 2021 informed the company about the change in router and in my presence he sent details of the new unit. The number for the new router is: S/N E2045BXKZ05166. I was told to wait for a further 48 hours and based on the information I have provided in this email I have no reason to believe that any positive action will ever take place. It is very clear to me that there is a very limited amount of willingness from Vodacom to provide me with service it claims to give to the people due to the massive scale of gross incompetence I have experienced this week. The email is a last-ditch effort which I believe will not yield to any positive results. I am seriously considering to look for a new service provider with an aim of also stopping as many people as I can from using your services. Vodacom is a big company and I thought your service was going to be efficient as soon as I showed interest in your service. I sincerely regret my decision to choose your company and I do not have any more patience to wait for another 48 hours as I might be told to wait for a third 48 hour period.
