Horrible Horrible Vodacom

I've had bad experiences with many brands in the past, Vodacom was hell bent on taking the cup. I'm on a Red Carpet package with this network provider, this package I'm told is supposed to be unlimited.

My number was soft locked last night for apparently having exceeded my mandatory limit of R5800, this morning at 8am I was at Vodacentre in Westedene Bloemfontein to unlock the phone. The poor guy referred me to Vodacom Shop at Mimosa Mall as his system did not allow him to unlock my phone. I was the first person at Mimosa, a young fellow truly tried to help and even wrote an email to head office as my data usage was unusual and very high. He made a number of phone calls to the call center and account collections as my account has never been in areas. He also requested that they temporally increase my limit so I could be able to do business on my phone.

He then told me leave as the call center will contact me, indeed the contacted after two hours, and told me that my account will be credited by about R6000 and that the temporary limit will be adjusted to R12000 for the phone to be unlocked.

After 3pm I went back to Mimosa Vodashop as my phone was still locked. The same fellow tried to help by making a number of phone calls and was sent from pillar to post by both collections and the call center, no one seemed to know what to do.

Eventually someone from collections advised us to pay 75% of the mandatory amount and forward proof there of and my phone will be unlocked. This I did and proof was sent to them. A call was then made to follow up and confirm the reconnection. I was then told that I'm manually unlocked and will back on line within an hour.

Three hours later nothing was happening, I then called the call center, they then told me to call collection tomorrow as no unlocking was done. Apparently only administration unlocking was done which is for lost phones and phones in arreas. I don't understand how I fit there. Anyway they couldn't help me still and I still can't use my phone.

This multi billion establishment has either employed a bunch of *********** people or doesn't understand its own systems. How can it be that I don't owe Vodacom but my phone is locked and no one can come up with clear reconnection produces. Shame on you, shame on you. I will make noise about this in the media until your incompetency is public.

Thank you, I tried calling both the call center and accounts collection this morning, I'm now told that my is suspended because I'm waiting for a new SIM card, this is now a new level of impotency.
I'm still waiting for a call from your team. I'm going back to Vodashop Mimosa Mall, I'm praying for assistance. This has opened my eyes to shop for a better service elsewhere.
