Horrible Experience when cancelling Vodacom Account - Beware!!!

I had two lines in one contract with Vodacom which was due to expire in June 2020. Late last year or so i decided to visit the Vodacom store to have my contract cancelled but was advised to rather pay the account upfront and evade paying the cancellation fee and still enjoy the free airtime which i was getting every month on two lines, then cancel the contract only in June. The advise made sense to me and i followed it.

In June, I sent a mail and called to request for the cancellation of my contract. The monthly statement came as usual and I started making numerous emails and calls following up with Vodacom, all the time, the consultant advised that they have logged my query with the backend and i should give it seven days to be resolved, but my account will be credited and closed.

During this process i have spoke to various consultants who promised the same thing but till today nothing was done but to receive a call from the legal department Vincent Smith advising that my account has been handed over to them without any notes of my previous follow ups or requested action.

I have spoke to Andile Hlatshwayo in the customer services department as well as Jennifer in the cancellation department who also never assisted with anything till today inclusive of the various other call center staff whom i have been in contact with, with no assistance.

My profile on the credit bureau is reflecting negative due to non payment of Vodacom account, and irrespective of the emails i have sent and calls, I am still expected by Vodacom to pay this account.

I feel that they are taking advantage of me, and trying to rob me off my money in broad daylight since i have indicated my intentions to terminate their service and trying to hold me ransom by projecting incorrect information on the credit bureau to get back at me.

I would understand that my request could have slipped off due to someone not having had done their job properly if i only send one email, but how do you explain despondency and false promises from various consultants on so many follow ups on emails and calls?

My life is stuck right now as i need to buy a house but cant, due to wrong information reflecting on my credit bureau profile.

I'm desperately in need of your assistance or the key email address to use so i can resolve this, as for Vodacom consultants i nolonger trust any of them, since i have been told lies all throughout.

Thanks Itu
