Horrible!

I recently went into a Vodacom store at the beginning of march to sign up for a new contract. They were having a special on a Sony XA1 Ultra with a PS4 on a contract with R150 airtime per month which was ending on the 6th of March. The cost of the contract was around R440 per month. The gentleman helping me was very helpful and did mention to me that he was not sure if they were going to get stock of that particular phone so he decided to phone the warehouse to enquire about it. Eventually he managed to get through and the person at the warehouse said that they would be getting stock of the phone the following week. So i told him to go ahead and process the application and they can let me know when they receive the stock and i will come through to collect it and the playstation. The application was approved and I was merely waiting for the devices. A week later a lady from the same branch phoned me to tell me that the phone for which i had signed up was discontinued and they would not be receiving more stock. The only other phones they had on the PS4 special were a Sony L1 which is a low end phone and there were high end Sony phones which would have been close to R600 per month which i was not willing to pay. I mentioned to the lady over the phone that i signed up for this particular contract, for a phone of those particular specs together with the PS4 for the price of R440, and that is all i want is for Vodacom to hold up their end of the contract. i even went in to the store later that day to speak to the original gentleman which helped me. he mentioned that there is nothing which they can do in store as they cannot create contracts and can merely sell what is loaded onto their system. he then sent an enquiry via the system to Vodacom head office and said that they would get back to me within a day or so as they would be able to create a contract for me. the next day i received notification that Vodacom had just denied the request completely. no attempt at all to honor the contract in any way. for all intensive purposes that contract was cancelled and i would have to take up a different contract completely.

i completely understand that the particular phone for which i signed up for was discontinued and they would not be getting it but the VERY LEAST which Vodacom could do is create a package for me similar to the one for which i app****, with a similar spec'ed phone for a similar price.

This is absolutley horrible customer service if you ask me and I have no idea how Vodacom is one of the "best" mobile service providers with service like this.

This is absolutely disgusting!! On the 28th of March i received a private message here on Hello Peter stating that my query has been escalated and someone will contact me soon. On the 3rd of April i received an email from a Shontel Brash requesting to know which store this had take place at. on the 4th i rep**** to her and this was her response. "Many Thanks Ridwaan. Apologies the complaint was forwarded to me and i couldn't pick up the mail. I will follow up with the manager and revert shortly." I have not heard anything since then.... 19 days later and counting. i have even made attempts to call Shontel and she does not answer.... actually let me correct that... i tried calling this morning... she answered but never spoke into the phone... i could hear her talking to someone else. i have left a message on her phone. i wish it was possible to rate vodacom at less than 1 star. with customer service like this how on earth are they so popular...
