********** Vodacom
I took up a Vodacom cellphone contract through Vodacom Business for my business in February 2018. I gave strict instruction that I wanted to keep my current phone number and that the new contract must utilise said number. When the phone was delivered, it had a new SIM card that already had a different number assigned to it - which was not what I purchased. When I informed the sales person that assisted me that a new number had been issued and that she would have to transfer my number, she responded by saying that it would not be possible to transfer a number once the phone had been delivered. She then suggested that she would cancel the contract and open a new one and make sure that the phone number gets assigned correctly.
The second mobile phone was delivered, and you guessed it, a new phone number had already been assigned. My phone number had not been ported, again. The original contract had not been cancelled either.
I have been going back and forth with the same Sales person and have also been referred to several other personnel at Vodacom , needless to say, it has now been 12 months and the issue has still not been resolved.
In the meantime, my business has been debited for two accounts both of which are not in use.
I am beyond annoyed and disappointed at Vodacom's handling of the issue. It appears that none of the staff members know how to remedy this situation, I'm not sure whether this is due to a lack of training, general incompetence or deliberate delinquency by Vodacom in order to maximise its profits by continuing to take money from my business for zero services rendered.
I have chosen to write on this platform as a last resort to hopefully resolve this issue.
