Hijacking data & airtime -#Vodacom takes before giving

I received 1gig free last evening to use until 23h59 as I was informed and it was activated for immediate use. I had my own data and airtime on my iPhone too. Later that evening all my services stopped and when I checked my balances I was to find out that all my airtime and data had been depleted (this is not the first time I would like to add) but the "gifted" 1G sat proudly unused.

When I enquired as to how all this is possible i was told: "sorry but it's unusable at this time."

Huh? So I asked Mogadi again, a data department consultant on he evening shift. Let me get this right: "Are you telling me that Vodacom offered my a free Gig to use for this evening until 12am and that it is active but it is not available to be used?" To which she rep**** yes, after refunding my hijacked airtime and data and this only after trying to settle me with R5 more airtime than I had airtime instead of megs that I had megs . . . ?

Huh no.2 Yeah you heard right. I was given R5 extra airtime instead of the correct amount of data balance before this whole hijacking.

What's wrong with this? for starters, don't offer anything if you have no intention of following through - this is misleading and least of all makes your whole network look and sound shifty. Oh wait, I hear your comeback already - it's a network issue and is unpredictable. People, we pay for the use of that network, it belongs to you yeah? Did I miss something?

Next, as if false advertising was not enough - please do acknowledge your fault before you have to be queried upon it - it makes you look decidedly dishonest and precariously **********.

And then, when you try and fix the issue you created and then chose to ignore without any real intent for bona fide redress - have the propriety to remedy the situation in as least an insulting manner as possible. Offering me R5 instead of returning my data balance to where it initially was is quite inappropriate in view of the absurd cost of your data. This makes for a disparaging image, if that bothers you at all.

I am sure you will - your TAT might be? How professional of you to send an automated reply . . . What's that tagline again? "Power to you" You must really be cashing in on the lack of consumer activism in this country . . . you still hold all the power.
