High hopes for service provider shattered

I have always wanted to be a Vodacom user. Always having being under the impression that's it's expensive I vowed as soon as I started working I would move to Vodacom. Better connectivity etc all the bells and whistles. So this year after the black Friday madness I tried my luck to apply for a contract online. (The convenience just amazed me that I can apply for a contract online and get it delivered to work. More reason to move to a progressive convenient provider). I app**** and at the end of the order it advised someone would call me and confirm my order and I would get my phone if approved. I waited for two days then called in to confirm the progress. I was advised someone would contact me within 48 to 72 hours as they had backlog entering online orders due to black Friday (understandable). Unfortunately I never got that call. The following weekend I returned to the online site and found amazing IPHONE specials. Still hopeful I app**** again. This time I decided to call again. I called and was advised to call the online team directly. The number is supposedly free for Vodacom users but unfortunately I am not a Vodacom user and am eager to be one. The number rang with no answer and I was on hold for 7mins both times that I called. I called from a friends Vodacom line and the customer care Consultant advised i must go to a Vodacom shop to follow up. I advised her I ordered online for a reason (convenience) and the alert at the end of the order did not tell me to go to a shop. Disgruntled i tweeted about the situation and promptly got call from a very helpful consultant who advised he would address the matter and I would be helped and contacted shortly. That was three days ago still no call and this is two weeks after my first online application. Sadly all I can say the high regard I held Vodacom in has since dwindled. In such a competitive market you would think service would be better. Even if the contract is denied at least just tell me. Oh well.
