Here we go again

I recently signed a brand-new contract and was told that my subscription would be fixed for the next two years. I remember this specifically asking this as I signed for a promotional discount and wanted to make sure that I will get it for the whole contract duration and not just for a month or two. The representative at CelluCity assured me that I will pay what I saw on the day for the next 24 months.

I got the notice of price increase of my subscription today.

Now, I know what VodaCom will say.... economic times...., inflation, small print, we are committed to blah blah blah. I just find it fascinating that they are allowed to unilaterally change the terms of my contract, but I am not allowed to do so. Can I downgrade my subscription? Regardless of what the representative assured me, this is very immoral practice, but hey, who am I to complain. Just another sucker that have the "privilege" to have a cell phone and I must therefore conform. After all, I signed for it and assumed to have read the entire contract.

Not cool, VodaCom

As predicted. Even used "committed" twice.

I also received an SMS stating that this ticket has been closed. Unilaterally. This was a very one-sided way of dealing with the issue.

Anyway. It is done now. From Vodacom's side, anyway.
