Help? Service? No service?!

I am deeply frustrated and disappointed by the lack of service I have received from Vodacom over the past couple of months.

The most recent problem I have experienced is the following. On the 5th of July my phone was soft locked due to reaching my credit limit. I never received any information beforehand that I was nearing this limit or that I even had such a limit on my account as I have logged service requests earlier this year to remove all locks on my phone. As it was the 5th I wasn't that concerned, because the initial contract I signed I asked that my debit order must go off on the 5th of every month. Later that day I found out that my account is only being debited on the 7th which meant I won't have a phone for 2 days. The solution suggested to me by your accounts department and I was told to increase my credit limit.

So I spoke to a consultant to increase my credit limit. She then told me she can't do it she has to log a service request. As it was only for 2 days that I wanted to be able to use my phone I thought this was ridiculous because I don't want to pay R10 000 every month to Vodacom. Before I asked her to raise the limit I just enquired what it was currently and at that stage my credit limit was almost half of my outstanding account?! How did this automated system only decided then that this was enough I am soft locking your phone now? There is absolute no consistency in the decision making regarding our accounts.

But this was not the highlight of the conversation. I asked her to check exactly what I am being billed for, because on the 28th of December I asked to be upgraded from a Smart S package to a Smart XL with a 1G data bundle every month( including the one iPhone 7) and this should work out around R1150 per month, but most months I have been paying R1800. This consultant informed me that I was paying for a 2nd handset every month...I do not own a second handset. So I logged another service request and was promised that this money will be credited on my June account.

Today is the 9th still no debit order went off. I still don't have a working phone.

But these aren't my only problems, my debit order for June never went off and now it says it is only due in July? I don't want to pay two month's bills at the end of July because heaven only knows how much that will end up being?!

I am sorry, but your service has been unacceptable. My phone has been locked numerous times this year for reasons I only find out about later, limits and locks that I never set on my account. When I eventually received my upgrade phone my package was never upgraded. So 2 months in a row, after I reported it the first month, I was kept on a Smart S package and had to pay out of bundle rates for data. It was promised to me that this will also be credited on my account, but needless to say it never happened. By March/May I was so thankful to have a working phone for a full month that I never questioned the R1800 I'm paying monthly, I just thought I might have used too much data, just to find out I am paying for a second handset.

The problem list just doesn't stop. I have dutifully been paying thousands of rands this year for services I don't receive. I know I am only an individual and it would make no difference to Vodacom if you lose one client, but this is frustrating and unprofessional. I cannot recommend you as SA's leading network as you claim to be. The worst part is I can't do my own job properly as we rely on our phones quite a bit.
