Held at ransom by vodacom

I am highly annoyed by Vodacom. They are holding me at ransom against my will. The lack of quality customer service as a result of the incompetence of their staff is shocking to say the least. The just dont care about the damagae they create to their clients as long as they get the money from you and stay profitable. The frustating part is that they will harass you for their competence.

My story is as follows: I have never had a relatioship with Vodacom because I have always avoided such as I was warned about the vulnerability of one's information at the hands of Vodacom. I nevertherless after some years took up a capped data contract with Vodacom as I was of a view that there is noway that there can be any billing issues as compared to a phone contract. The contract was opened in 2016 and accordingly expired this year in April. I deddecided to cancel the contract with Vodacom at the expiry of the contract as I wanted to cancel all the ties with it as the journey with this service provider hasnt really been that cordial and smooth. When I called in a carrot was dangled in my face and I was told that they can arrange for me to get the same benefits at a fraction of the price I was paying. This imp**** that my contract had to be converted to the old plan to the new plan. When in process of this conversion, I discovered that for some reason my account was in arreas. After doing my own fault finding with no help from Vodacom as they are always useless when it comes to helping the customer, I then realised that a fradulent line was opened ahagainst my account. I brought this to the attention of Vodacom. At this time I was over 60 days in arrears. I was then informed that I needed to contact the ***** dispute at Vodacom to dispute the new line. Now because I was the one who was to be affected with bad debt history, I comp****. Now the interesting part is that these ***** dispute people in Vodacom, are the cream of the crop, they are royalty and customer are not allowed to talk to them but email them only. Their voice is only reserved for the elite and dignitories and not for paupers like the 80% of its clientele. The rest of us can communicate with them through an email. This means they do things at their pace with no sense of urgency, after all you can get hold of them to voice your frustrations because they are too important for that. My first email was responded to and was informed that i needed to go to a police station to obtain an affidavit and forwarded. I wasnt too impressed with the adkin process but I comp**** even when I was on the road as a result of work commitments. Only after seven frikin days the Royalty from ***** disputes informs me that they have received the documents and they are investigating the matter. It is now passed two weeks and I have not received any feedback. Furthermore their debt collection department is harassing by calling me every second day and forwarding threatening emails. This is a typical Vodacom style, good at collecting money (even if it means that they have to rob you), but very poor at service delivery.The consequences of this incompetence is that: 1. The age of my dept is growing and denting my credit record. 2. My creditors are alredy warning me about this and i am asked to explain. 3. I am held at ransom because I cannot discountinue my intial contract as my overall account is in arrears. I am very ****ed off as a result I have decided to pursue this matter legally
