headline:Vodacom Fiber A Masterclass in Incompetence and Ghosting
If you are considering switching to Vodacom Fiber, take my advice: Don't.
We moved from a local provider to Vodacom and Openserve expecting a stable connection. Instead, we have received a monthly bill for a service that has only functioned correctly for one single week out of the last month.
The Timeline of Failure:
April 13 (SR***): Logged initial issues regarding a "flapping" line and intermittent performance.
April 22: Vodacom sent an automated email closing the ticket. No phone call, no confirmation of resolution, and no improvement in speed. The reason? "Escalated to FTTX Support." Since when does "escalation" mean "closed"?
April 23: I reached out again, expressing my disappointment that the ticket was closed without a fix. I was ignored.
April 27: I sent a formal escalation to management. I reported 2 to 4-minute latency for standard websites and total connection freezes. I demanded a call from a senior technician.
Today (May 7): It has been 10 days since that escalation. Zero feedback. Zero acknowledgement. Zero service.
The Current State of "Service": My fiber line is essentially a decorative cable. I have better luck using a 2G signal than this fiber connection. I am currently sitting with a new ticket number, but based on Vodacom’s track record, I expect they will simply close this one too without picking up the phone.
Vodacom’s "Customer Care" is an oxy*****. They are quick to take your money but completely incapable of providing the infrastructure or technical support they promise. Their silence is deafening, and their technical incompetence is staggering.
