Handed to their attorneys even when up to date

I had 2 contracts with Vodacom, which some time on/about 2013 I defaulted on payments and my account was handed over to your Legal Department, with which I made payment arrangements and have been receiving statements on a monthly basis. On the 9th of September 2014 I received from Vodacom my last statement to which I made a payment of R1003 as per arrangement. On the month of October 2014 I checked and waited for the statement , however, it was not forthcoming. At the end of the month of October I called Vodacom customer care line and i was directed to legal department. I asked about the statement and the amount that I had to pay for the month, the guy on the other side checked for me on his system and then confirmed that my account was now up to date that was the reason I was not billed, he further confirmed that he is still unable to bill me as I was not using the services. I requested for a cancellation fee at that time, but the gentleman advised that it would be better if I reinstated my account for it is a cheaper option compared to cancellation as my contract would be expiring in January 2015.
