Handed over by vodacom

Here we go again.... In April I opened another contract for a mobile router linked to my current cellphone contract. 3 days later, I cancelled the contract. (Never used the router) handed back the sim... And paid cash for the router (approx R950). I had second thoughts... (Thats what cooling off periods are for right?) The manager in the branch agreed that I will not owe anything further as I have cancelled within the cooling off period. Infact, she said that we may be too late to cancel the first debit order but if it goes off, it will be refunded back to my account. I was assured that there would be no additional costs if I pay for the router cash. ( I had opened the box)...so I did just that.

Now... After months of arguing about an amount I've been handed over for on my cellphone (my cellphone is up to date)....... I eventually, only today (When MBD, the collection company called)was told that this amount -Approx R1700, was actually for the second contract and not for my cellphone at all. I mean..really? I now need to lay out costs to employ legal aid to assist in resolving this matter which makes the whole situation more difficult and arduous. How can a vodacom representative (manager infact) assure a customer that their query is resolved when clearly, absolutely nothing was done about it. I find it difficult to understand..... The last time I posted on Hello Peter was the same issue... At that time I was being hounded via sms for an amount that when asked, was for me cellphone account. I got a call from them.. They apologised for the inconvenience. Told me it was a mistake, told me to ignore the messages. Please... If you need to contact me, I work. I am only available between 12 and 1 and after 5 on weekdays. I have lost all faith in what I am told so I feel the only thing to do next is to seek legal aid here. I know I cannot be expected to pay for a service I cancelled within the cooling off period.. Especially when you took back your sim card.. And when I paid cash for the device I was going to pay monthly for.

I cant tell you how disappointed I am. I wonder how many people you are doing this to... Its stressful, unnecessary and causing a LOT of heartache during a very difficult time as it is. I will definitely be taking this further. Oh and the last thing the caller said to me before hanging the phone up in my ear was... Check to see if you've been blacklisted... Thank you vodacom.
