GSM service not working

In the area where I live the Vodacom 3G and LTE service is very weak and calls are often dropped because of the weak signal, therefore it is best to set your phone to 1G/GSM only. My house alarm system works on GSM only. At the end of November 2016 Vodacom's GSM signal stopped working. I phoned Vodacom's 111 helpdesk and the lady couldn't understand the problem, so she ****ed the call after a minute or 2. I went to the George Vodacom offices early in January 2017 to register a complaint and I was informed that they were aware of the GSM problem. They noted my complaint and promised to get back to me. So far they have also ignored me. Does Vodacom expect met to buy a new alarm system?

Yes, Vodacom sent an e-mail "escalated the matter to the Network Team" - and from there on just SILENCE. No further response, no testing, signal still not working!! It's now been 3 months without a GSM signal. I think that Vodacom should be held accountable for any loss due to burglaries. After all, they take your money but fail to provide a service in exchange.

It took 2 months (since my last comment), but Vodacom arrived at my house today with a signal booster which was installed free of charge. I now have good to full 4G signal thoughout my house!! Vodacom was slow to respond but at least they resolved the issue!! Well done and thank you!!
