Gig depleted in 2 days-IMPOSSIBLE

Good day

I am now prepaid and now suddenly I use a gig on my wifi in 2 days. Please note on theses 2 days I was busy and wasnt even on line as much as usually. In the last two days I've only used whatsapp, facebook(videos dont autoplay switched off),instagram and I googled a few images on google images, and checked a few not much google pages. Background data switched off, updates switched off. Everything is switched off. I normally used a gig in 5 days. This is impossible. It just can not be. No youtube,no **** ,no updates so the data cannot be explained. And the problem is this is a recurring issue with VODACOM customers. You are *****ing our data and we just have to dish out and pay and buy more and more and you smile all the way to the bank.

Dear Client

As a gesture of goodwill, I loaded 2Gb data on your number.

Please note we do not monitor nor record website and URL information neither can we see the devices which connect to your Wi-Fi router. Vodacom is required to provide the availability for clients to connect to the internet, but cannot control the activity on our clients’ devices while connected. Vodacom therefore only records the volumes of data used, not the sites /service used while connected. Please refer to https://www.paessler.com/router_bandwidth_monitor as a possible router bandwidth monitoring tool. Important information regarding routers:

1. Please make sure that you have a secured connection on the router.

2. You may change the password from time to time, i.e. CHANGE THE DEFAULT PASSWORD

3. Please note that we only have access to data on the primary device i.e. router, not information on devices accessing the internet via the router.

4. You may check the MAC addressed on the router.

5. You may restrict IPN's to users, meaning that the users may only access information you specify on the router. e.g.: Emails only, Accessing websites only, etc.

6. Please make sure that you have the WPA or WPA2 security option activated on the admin box of the router.

7. You may have background data running on the devices connected via the router, which may consume data.

Kind regards

Vodacom Consumer Website Team
