Ghost billing?

I have an outstanding account with Vodacom to which i agreed to settle by paying a fixed amount of R600 a month until the amount is settled

I receive monthly statements in the snail mail from Vodacom indicating the balance due and the payment made in the previous month. During the first two weeks of September I received the statement from Vodacom indicating that the total amount outstanding is R7.32

Yesterday I received an interactive SMS from Vodacom thanking me for my payment and looking forward to receipt of my next R600 payment

I rep**** to the SMS questioning why R600 when the amount due is only R7.32

A response was received at around 19:09 indicating that the balance on my account I ********** is R2 251.27

I sent a response questioning why monthly statements that are sent to me show an amount of R7.32 and the SMS shows a different amount and am still waiting for a response

This is completely unacceptable! How Vodacom send me monthly statements indicating the balance due as R7.32 and now when the debt is almost settled indicate a completely different amount?

This is the same as false advertising, advertising a product for one price and then going to the cashier and being told its another price

Reviewer Update

Dear Vodacom

I'm extremely concerned as to how this matter is being handled

1. I'm sure you agree that "In due course" has a very broad interpretation

2. I also sent an email to Vodacom legal on 28 September 2016 where its indicated that they endevour to respond within 5 working days. Still no response

3. On 27 September 2016 i rep**** to SMS received from + ********** ********** asking why would R600.00 be

debited from my account when my balance as per the stataments sent by Vodacom was R7.32. Within hours I

received a response indicating that balance is R2 251.27 to which I immediately responded and am still waiting

for a reply

Since sending the SMS, email and recording my complaint here there was no response from Vodacom to indicate how and why the amounts differ yet the debit order of R600.00 was still processed against my account on 30 October 2016

Why was it possible to tell me within hours that I owe an amount different to the amount indicated on the statements that you are sending me on a monthly basis but when questioned as to why its been days and still no response?
