General BAD service all the time

Dearest Vodacom,

I have had so many issues with the account contract I hold with you guys that I really am disappointed in. One thing I can commend is the service delivery from the guys handling data complaints but as for the rest - plainly - you delivery in less than below par.

Lets start shall we:

When I first opened my contract with Vodacom in 2015, I was currently working on rotation in Ghana and had advised the consultant that opened my contract that I would not have a set date of when I would be paying in the month as I did not know when my funds would be cleared. I was working in Ghana and I was being paid by a European company in Euros. The consultant had advised me that it would not be a problem as long as I paid my contract.

So the surprise came when I app**** for a loan to pay my university fees last week and had been advised by my bank that Vodacom had blacklisted me.

Shortly after opening my account I had unfortunately lost my job by way of retrenchment.

I was not unemployed for long though, I had taken on a job as dispatcher but the snag was I would be paid weekly and again that would be fine as per your consultant at the Vodacom outlet in the mall.
As per attachment (as I understand it) I have paid every month except for one.

The reason for that is I had again moved jobs. The dispatch job was supposed to be temporary to full time but due to unforeseen circumstance that did not happen. I took a full time position and due to inconsistencies in weekly payments I missed a month of paying. Once again I had gone into the shop and even called to advise that I had missed a month and that I would not withhold payment but rather catch up on payment to which I have been doing consistently. See attachment.

And that's where the drama of all it started. Since October 2016 I have had my line blocked for up to 2 weeks every month. And no one is helping me resolve this at all. Though I must say my line is not blocked currently as I have been expecting it - but I have also had no correspondence from Vodacom as promised by many of your consultants.

I have even been accused of not paying for 2 months and that my line will stay cut off as per you accounts department.

My issue is, after every call and every visit I have made no on has bothered trying to sort out a solution. The promise to email the promise to call back after a call back - NADA!

Point is, the contract negotiated is not what I am getting!

Second point is:
On the contract that I had taken out I got an LG G4. And in October the phone “died”.

As in: unfortunately the phone came with the factory fault of a loose connection which resulted in the infamous start up boot loop. And so started the many trips to Vodacom repair centre at the mall. That specific shop has since closed down and I am still without the LG G4 as per my contract.

Now I have been told that they refuse point blank to look at phone due to “water damage”. The phone has been into your repair centre 5 times with the same problems!!! And I even gave notification that there was still a problem before sending it to the repair centre! 5 times! Surely after problem number 2 with the same complaint someone should have recognised an issue. But no! Its not been looked at and being fixed!

I have been accused by Vodacom, I have been insulted by Vodacom and I have been made to feel like an absolute ******** by Vodacom.
I have had a consultant say that I should rather go to Telkom as they have better deals, I have been told by repairs centre that I bought my contract from virgin, I have had a manager or supervisor completely ignore me and when challenged on that she tells me I am rude. I have even had confirmation that the Vodacom repair centre used second hand motherboards in my phone and that is the reason for continued problems and the accusation of virgin contract!

When I spoke to a consultant last week she advised me that I have not been black listed by Vodacom but instead Vodacom has dropped my credit rating to a 1! Since when did Vodacom become personal advisors as well…

I am really at my wits end with Vodacom and refuse to renew my contract once its done. I can not cancel the contract as per your consultants because I would have to pay in for a phone I do not have and a contract that has dropped my credit rating and plain and simple does not work as a contract should.

I have also tried getting your ombudsman`s number which I have failed at getting. Does one go to consumer protection now?

Even a non automated email address from Vodacom would be highly appreciated! I was given a number to speak to your legal team - did you know that you have to pay for that number even though you were told by a consultant it was a free call. Then when you ask to be put through to the legal department you get put through to the 111 consultants.

Its absolutely disgusting service from Vodacom. I would never recommend Vodacom. not anymore, considering I have only used Vodacom in the last 10+ years. Now I want nothing more than to sort out these issues so I can be done with this bad and expensive service provider!

You have my contact details. Once again I will not hold my breath for resolution or solution.
