I took out a cellphone contract with Vodacom in 2011, with numerous upgrades throughout the years (x3). My contract is due for termination on 4/4/2019 and as required I made contact with Vodacom to provide them with notice of termination a month prior to ensure no further deductions occur. In my initial discussion with the Call Centre agent I was informed that a further deduction of R411,00 would have to made on the 25th of April 2019. It’s stated that Vodacom would provide me with airtime for the full month of April even though my contract terminated on the 4th. What I requested was that they deduct their final debit amount which is inclusive of the pro rata amount for the 1st-4th of April on the 25th of May 2019 and not provide me with the airtime as I do not want to be continue this contract with this company past the 4th. I’ve called Vodacom more than 5x between the 1 and 9th of March with some calls going unattended for more than 40mins & when they are, my queries aren’t attended to sufficiently or escalated appropriately. All I am requesting is that they deduct their final debit order which is inclusive of the 4 day pro rata. I have no interest in the airtime they are supposedly required to provide me with in the month of April. I honestly don’t understand why I am obligated to pay a fulls months debit order for a contractual obligation that is only valid for 4 days! But in true Vodacom style of course this will be ignored!!!!
