Frustrating service offering
I am deeply frustrated with the service level and attitude I have experienced with Vodacom in my attempt to do an ESim. To start with a week before the 31st of January 2025 I had visited the branch on York St, George to do a sim swap as I had lost my sim card. I struggled to get the sim swap done in store up until I had to be helped via the call centre, the call I suppose was recorded and the consultant on the call centre expressed her dismay as to why they could not assist me in store. On the 31st I went back to the store to have an eSim done. I paid the R25 required, thereafter I was told that my sim card was flagged for ***** and I had to call the callcentre to have it removed. My attempt to get through to vodacom call centre was literally impossible as the system kept referring me to the Tobi system. I sent an email requesting to be called back on the 31st of January 2025 and on the 1st of February the call from vodacom came through at 0909hrs from the number ***, I picked the call and for 5min and 47sec there was no one responding on the line. I had to drop the call as it was nonresponsive. I went to Vodacom Garden route mall shop to seek assistance and I was told that I could not be helped and should go to Vodacom York St.
At Vodacom York St, I was in the shop for 3 hours being sent from pillar to post. One consultant who called thier back office support known as Trade partner whose conversation I heard was told that there was no flag on the sim card and I had to go back to the gentleman who had done the esim on the 31st in the same shop. He then said that his system said there was a flag on the number and that I had to wait for 3 months for me to do the ESim. My frustration is that I have wasted time and resources going up and down just to try and move from a physical sim to an eSim, the frustration of hearing different stories from the service provider is so appauling, I don't even want to talk about how annoying it was to be told to contact the call centre and speak to an agent only to be sent to Tobi. I wonder if it worthwhile to remain on this network if I have to endure such a frustrating service as though I have nothing else to do.
