FRUSTRATED VODACOM CUSTOMER

I have been a Vodacom customer for plus or minus 25 Years. I am frustrated and need urgent assistance. On the 9th of May 2024,I discovered that.someone *****ulently did a sim swap on my contract account in Sandton (Johannesburg),while I reside in Cape Town. The consultant in Cellucity Canal Walk in Cape Town assisted me in doing a sim swap 3times but it was closed same day without success.Every time she tried the person in question would reverse it. She then escallated the problem to her superiors. She then received an advise to say I should do a cancellation of the account and open a new one. Before we could do this she received a call from Johannesburg call centre agent and the person who did the *****ulent sim swap alleging that the account is his and he was using my name as his name.The.consultant told him to go to any Vodacom shop with his ID to verify himself but this never happened. The person in question wrote me a threatening WhattsApp, claiming my number is his.I do not know how did he get hold of my prepaid number, which he WhattsApped me on.I.took.the WhattsApp to Cellucity Canal Walk in Cape Town where I was being assisted. The consultant follow this up again and she was advised that I should do a premature cancellation of the account and open a new one.I did that but I had to pay a cancellation fee.My.account was up to date but the account would not close. It kept on saying prelegal, which means I am owing while I was not owing. The consultant at Cellucity Canal Walk in Cape Town wrote several emails and made several phone calls to Vodacom in Johannesburg.Eventually it showed in Johannesburg customer care system that my account was not owing. However, from the shop system it still said prelegal meaning I am owing. She wrote another email to quiry it, it was temporarily sorted. After doing the vetting so as to open a new account,it went back to prelegal, meaning I am owing them even though I didn't owe anything. Today the 1st of July I went back to Cellucity Canal Walk in Cape Town to check what is happening with the account I was told it is still on prelegal on the shop system but when the consultant called Johannesburg customer care in their system it said I do not owe.She then called and asked to be put through to prelegal, the lady at prelegal said I owe R534-80, which was supposed to be debited on the 28th of June 2024.However,I didn't get any invoice for this, despite not owing. When I opened my FNB app to try and make the payment I realised that Vodacom debited this amount on the 28th of June 2024, without my authorisation.I had been paying my account cash,I had never given them my bank details. So it was a surprise to me as to how my account was debited.The.account still say prelegal despite the debit, which means the account cannot be settled and closed.I want to open a new contract account but I am stuck, the consultant at Cellucity Canal Walk shop no longer knows what to do.She has tried everything.I am writing to you hello Peter as a last resort I need you to help intervene please. My name is Thabile Zondi-Rees and my email address is ***
