FRUSTRATED VODACOM CLIENT !!!

Frustrated Vodacom Client | Losing my mind

I have been trying to cancel my vodacom contract since 2019. I was told in store that the existing contract would expire in 2 months, so need need to pay a cancellation fee.

Subsequent to the end of the contract date, vodacom continued with the debit order. I sent numerous emails to the customer email address informing them to cancel the contract and have since had no response.

I also moved to France and just kept reversing the debit order and continued to email vodacom customer care - with no reply.

I then gave my mom in SA a proxy letter to cancel the contract in-store and she was told that I must pay the arrears and send a cancellation request with proof of payment to the cancellations department. I did not want to do this because I requested a cancellation on copious occasions. In the mean time, I was being sent legal letters of demand.

My mom was also told telephonically that vodacom tried calling me on my vodacom number, WHICH THEY CUT DUE TO NON-PAYMENT !!!

In June 2023, I returned to SA and went in-store to sort this out. I was put on a call with the cancellations dept, who referred me to pre-legal who referred me back the cancellations and on and on.

I then asked the service person in the store what I could do to just cancel. I was advised to pay the arrear amount and send proof of payment with a request to cancel the contract and copy customercare, which I did on the 29 June 2023. See emails below.

Good day Siziwe Thank you for the time spent today in trying to cancel my Vodacom account. I am leaving for France again in the next few days, so decided to pay the outstanding amount. See attached invoice paid for the total amount outstanding.

I realise that I tried numerous times to cancel the contract once the contract ended and received no response and rather the contract was renewed without my knowledge. I’d like to know if I can please get a refund for the months after the contract ended as I have email proof of my trying to contact vodacom to cancel the contract.

I would really appreciate it if you could cancel my account as soon as possible and send me the proof of cancellation. Best regards _______________________

Good day Please find my invoice of having paid up my Vodacom account.

I have tried on numerous occasions to cancel this contract since 2019 and followed all instructions given to me by in-store personnel and telephonic instructions.

I moved to France in July 2020 and returned to South Africa and visited a Vodacom store yesterday in Waterstone Village, Somerset West and was helped by being put on a call with the pre-legal department, who in turn put me through to the cancellations department.

At the end of the day, everyone was more confused and kept on passing me on to yet another department. I spoke to Siziwe at cancellations, who gave me his email, which keeps bouncing back.

I have decided to pay the outstanding amount and would like a confirmation of cancellation of the contract aligned to ***. The POP and receipt are embedded in the email below.

Please, please, please confirm receipt of this email and confirmation of the cancellation of the contract.

Regards

Curretly, vodacom keeps debiting my account every month, and I keep reversing the debit order, then they send a letter of demand, which I respond to with all my previous request since 2019 to cancel my contract, and again I am at risk of a bad credit score.

Not once have a received an email response from vodacom to my numerous emails.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ASSIST ?
