Frustrated Customer
10+ YEARS OF LOYALTY – AND THIS IS HOW VODACOM TREATS ME?
I honestly cannot believe that after being a loyal Vodacom customer for more than 10 years, I am now experiencing this level of frustration simply because I am under debt review.
I have always paid my Vodacom account on time. My cellphone contract has been maintained and paid as agreed.
When I entered debt review, I was specifically told that my existing cellphone contract would NOT be affected, provided I continued paying my monthly account – which I have done.
Now I want to upgrade my contract, and suddenly my debt review status is being used against me.
The most frustrating part? I have a letter from my debt counsellor confirming that I am allowed to upgrade AND that I can afford the monthly contract amount.
So, what exactly is the problem?
I understand that Vodacom has credit policies and affordability checks, but how is it fair to simply look at my debt review status and effectively say NO, without considering my 10+ years of loyalty, my payment history and the fact that I can actually afford the upgrade?
I feel discriminated against because I am under debt review.
I entered debt review to take responsibility for my finances and deal with my debts properly. I am not asking Vodacom to give me something I cannot afford. I am asking to upgrade a service that I have consistently paid for and maintained for over a decade.
I was told my cellphone contract would not be affected by debt review – yet here I am, facing exactly that problem when trying to upgrade.
Vodacom, is this really how you treat a customer who has been loyal to you for more than 10 years?
I am asking Vodacom to please stop treating this as an automatic credit rejection and actually look at my individual circumstances.
I have affordability confirmation from my debt counsellor. I have a long-standing account. I have a payment history. I can afford the upgrade.
Please escalate this matter to someone who can actually assist me and provide me with a proper explanation and resolution.
After 10+ years with Vodacom, I honestly expected better.
